You must obtain a cow lease to receive raw milk. A fee for the dairy is charged for the
cost of feeding, housing, milking and the caring of the owner's cows. The farm has a
grade A licence and we ship milk, so the milk gets tested every other day for bacteria
counts. We milk twice a day in a Grade A milking facility.
The cows are pasture fed and they have outdoor access year round. The cows also
receive kelp, live earth, flax, fossil shell flour and Redmond sea salt. We are up
breeding the Dutch Belted Dairy cow, because their milk is easily digested due to its
soft curd and high protein and fat ratio. They have higher butterfat. They have a
higher meat yield and they are known for their longevity.

HICKS DAIRY FARM a little about us;
We are a small Dairy farm located in North Branch, Mi
Kevin moved here with his family on August 31,1963 at the age of 3.
He started farming at age 10 and started milking in 1978.
June 2, 2004 I met Kevin and the farm and I have never left. The things I have
learned from living a natural organic life, it has been the most rewarding experience.
I can't say it a easy life, because it is not, but it the most rewarding life. When I
( Jenny Samuelson ) met Kevin, I suffered from allergies all year around, along with
migraines. Kevin told me to drink the milk and throw out the pills, I didn't believe.
I started drinking the milk and treated it as a medicine, I drank 16 oz every night
before I went to bed and anytime I felt the eyes getting puffy or the nose running I
would drink a glass of milk, wow it worked. I now drink the milk when ever, but
suffer from no allergies and migraines. Amazing just from raw organic milk, this made
be a big believer in treating yourself naturally and eating organically. I have treated
myself with Redmond Clay and Fossil Shell Flour for bee stings, I use to have bad
reaction to bee stings and was taught to stick that epi pen in my leg and go to the
hospital when ever I use to get stung. I can't say it wasn't a little scary treating
myself naturally the first time, but I have gotten stung by hornets and recently a
wasp done it all naturally and no reaction. It taught me to really have faith in what
god has given us. All because I met one person, a person who some may say he
doesn't have much, but the thing he gives back to all the people who depend on the
raw milk for their children lively hood to the all the animals who depend on him every
day and what he has given to soil to make a healthy core. He and the farm is richer
than anything money could buy.
Kevin started with the cow sharing in September 2004 and we took it another step
last in January 2008 and started the deliveries for more people could obtain the foods
we trust for their family. We currently have over 350 families who have signed on
with us and I hope your family will join our family to a better future.
